Yesterday, the beautiful xsoo ‘Wiileeksa Goop was launched at front beach. Surrounded by AISD Students and Staff as well as members of the community, the xsoo launched on the water with students paddling with the help of Johon Atkinson and David Nelson. On the shore, the students sang, drummed, and danced to cheer on the xsoo.
We are so thankful to all of the incredible AISD Staff (especially Chelsea Martinez, Naomi Leask, Gamaas Bolton, David Nelson, TJ Scott and Tadd Yliniemi) and Metlakatla community members who helped make this xsoo launch a success.
