It's never too early to talk to your student about what they want their life to look like after high school, and we encourage families to start early!
We've been sharing our Class of 2026's plans after graduation, but we'd love to hear from our other students across the district! Check in with your students (Pre-K - 12th grade) on their thoughts for their future College and Career, and feel free to share their responses in the comments!

The Alaska Sea Grant is back again for a 2nd year of training for both current and future fishermen, with classes available for 6th - 12th grade and our Metlakatla Community Fishermen! Check out the flyer for a schedule of events, and sign up at the link below:
-Thursday, May 7th: 7-8:30pm at the High School- Open to ALL Commercial Fishermen regardless of experience
-Friday, May 8th Assembly: 8:10-8:40am 6th-12th Crew Class 8:45-1:40pm (Reminder: all Friday assemblies are open to the public!), held in the MHS Gym!
-Saturday, May 9th & Sunday, May 10th: AMSEA Marine Safety Training starting at 9am at the High School

Each year, Mr. Hamilton holds a running competition for 2nd-5th grade to see who can get the most laps! The laps were tracked over the last three weeks of school, with a boy and girl winner for each class (with a fourth grade tie!). These students put their best effort forward to win the competition, and the winners will get to have lunch at Skaters Lake with Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Joe eat lunch and play games!
