Richard Johnson Elementary is excited to offer a Drum & Sm'algyax Club, taught by Mr. Gamaas! This club will focus on drum protocol with a thunder drum routine. and conversational Sm'algyax lessons to get students excited about learning Sm'algyax! The class will be held on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 starting on January 9th. Only 10 spots will be available (on a first-come, first-served basis), and permission slips will be sent home today. Our RJES Winter Carnival is TONIGHT from 6:00-8:00 at RJES! We have lots of games and activities for the whole family, and thousands of prizes to give away! This fundraising event is open to everyone, please come out and support our Richard Johnson Elementary students and the 5th Graders who helped put it all together. Here are some reminders about the event: -Game tickets are $5 for 10 tickets (CASH or CHECK only) available at the front door. -RJES Students will receive 10 free tickets; any additional tickets can be purchased. -Come hungry! Attention AISD Families: Tomorrow (Tuesday, December 12th) a strong wind and rain storm is expected to impact the panhandle, including Annette Island. Our schools will remain open, with limited outdoor activities. Buses will be transporting middle school students between the middle and high school. In the event of a power outage, our generators will provide heat and electricity, and our buildings can be made available to our community if needed.
