We want to inform you about an event taking place next Monday, May 19. Allen Marine and MIC Tourism are collaborating to provide an excursion opportunity for CLMS 8th graders. At 10:30am on Monday, students will be picked up at the high school and taken to Annette Bay to commence this touring excursion. Lunch will be provided, but if your student prefers something different, it must be brought with them that morning. At 3:00pm, they will return to Annette Bay and be transported back to the high school for dismissal. Any questions please contact us at 907-886-6095

Please join us for the ribbon cutting for the newest AISD addition, the Guthrie-Fawcett Maintenance Building, on Thursday, May 22nd at 3:30 pm!
This building was named for Leo Guthrie Sr. and John Fawcett Sr., both long-time maintenance staff members at Annette Island School District. We will dedicate the new building in honor of their years of service to both AISD and our community, and will celebrate with cake afterwards!

On April 10th & 11th, AISD and Wil la mootk partnered together to fund the “Promoting Community Conversations About Research to End Suicide (PC Cares) Learning Circles.”
We had 20 adults participate and almost every entity on the island was represented in these discussions. We participated in three Learning Circles and will complete the final two at the end of September.
Thank you to our Facilitator Ian McCarthy and SERRC support Mary and Cameron. We'd also like to thank the Mayor, Council, HEW Committee, and School Board for your support around these strategic planning meetings. They provide us with information on where we are at as a community and where we want to be.
Please be on the lookout for The Watchmen Program and all of the ways we can be a part of the solution.

On April 29th, the Juniors had their Table Talk Night! Metlakatla High School partnered with Sealaska Heritage Institute, RootED Advisors, and American Indian College Fund to have a delicious working dinner catered by Al & Edi's. Juniors worked through tasks, won door prizes, and were flooded with information regarding life after high school. Thank you Class of 2026, and we look forward to all of the ways you will positively contribute to our world!
