Next Wednesday, April 30th, is the First Annual Metlakatla Job Fair at Town Hall! There will be employment opportunities from various entities and businesses in our community. MHS students will be attending and bringing their resumes and cover letters, we recommend community members do the same!

April in the Sm’algyax language is Ha'lila̱x sixs'waanx- it means the time to gather herring eggs! Yesterday, our first grade class was able to share a yummy snack. Thanks to MIC for sharing laxsm xs’waanx (herring eggs on branches) with the community, and thank you to Ms. Chelsee Cook for the eggs on Legi (hairy seaweed). Luk’wil ts’maatk (it tastes really good)! The first graders enjoyed eating them and were also so happy to share them with others at RJES!

The MHS Sewing Class has been busy this semester making the"Exploding heart" pattern! This beautiful quilt is up for raffle. Please support our sewing class by making purchasing a raffle ticket ($10 each) with any of the following students that worked on the quilt: Adeline A., Layla B., or Eli C.
